Pricing Data

All subscription prices are verified directly from official service websites and apps. Prices are recorded monthly and represent the standard (non-introductory) pricing for the most common tier in each service's European offering. Where pricing varies by country, we use German pricing as the EU benchmark and note country-specific variations. Prices in USD or GBP are converted using 3-month rolling average exchange rates.

Historical Price Data

Historical pricing (2020, 2022, 2024) is sourced from archived service pricing pages, press releases, and consumer price tracking databases. All historical prices have been cross-referenced against at least two independent sources before inclusion. Where discrepancies exist between sources, the lower (consumer-favourable) figure is used.

Survey Data

Consumer survey statistics are based on a 2025 survey of 12,000 adults across 8 European countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Spain and Italy. The sample is representative by age, income and urban/rural split within each country. Surveys were conducted online with a professional panel provider. The margin of error at 95% confidence is ±1.2 percentage points for pan-European figures and ±2.8 percentage points for individual country data.

Market Size Estimates

Market size estimates (total European subscription spending) are modelled using survey-derived per-capita spending, official Eurostat population data and cross-checks against published industry research from Statista, McKinsey Digital and individual service companies' earnings reports. All market size figures should be treated as estimates, not official statistics.
